New (to me) Characters I Met This Year

This year I was able to meet thirty-four characters that I have never met before. I really can't believe that I met that many. My favorite of all of them would have to be Lumiere. He was my number one character to meet and I really never thought I'd get the chance to meet him. I am looking forward to see what characters 2014 will bring.

In January, I met Lumiere, Cogsworth, Chip, Ludwig Von Drake, The Big Bad Wolf, Fifer Pig, Fiddler Pig, and Practical Pig.








I met Silvermist in April.

Christmas Day Parade Taping

The Christmas Day Parade was taped at Magic Kingdom on Saturday. I got to Magic Kingdom around 8:00 am and went to find a spot on Main Street to watch the taping. I was able to find a spot behind people. I stood there for over two hours and never saw a thing. The sun came out, it was hot, and I had to move. I decided to go to Town Square and just get pictures as the characters came out. I'm glad that I decided to move because it took five hours to tape the opening performance.

After they were done filming the opening performance, the parade floats came out. I watched in Town Square as they came around to go in. The biggest surprise was seeing Huey, Dewey, and Louie for the first time. I had my head down when their float first came into view and I looked up, saw them, and just stood there in shock. It took me a minute to actually pick my camera up to get pictures of them.

Doc McStuffins was also out. I saw her as she was going in and only got a picture of the side of her. I was hoping that she'd be in the parade but she wasn't.

May Character Round-Up

May was a good month for meeting characters.

May The 4th Be With You!

As part of Limited Time Magic, a May The 4th Be With You event was held at Hollywood Studios. They had a bunch of Star Wars characters out during the day. A lot of the characters were roaming characters and did not have lines. They each had an attendant but they didn't seem to do much other than stand back and watch and make the occasional announcement that there were no lines and it was basically a free for all. Some of these characters really needed lines. I heard two adults get into it while trying to meet Leia and I really thought they were going to get into a fight.

A lot of the roaming characters got swarmed by people. They'd take a few pictures and walk away. (I don't blame them because they are just doing what they're told.) It was difficult to get pictures with them. You pretty much just had to shove yourself up to them before somebody else could. Thankfully, I spent most of the day with somebody so we were able to get pictures. I was also able to meet nine characters that I had never met before; Zam Wessel, Stormtroopers, Greedo, a Clone Trooper, a Jawa, a Tusken Raider, R2MK, Kit Fisto, and Mace Windu.

On my way out, I wanted to check out the dance party. It was absolutely insane. It was basically Darth Goofy surrounded by hundreds of people while trying to dance.

I thought it would be fun to look back at the new characters that I met in 2012. I met twenty of them. I hope I meet even more in 2013.

Day Report 29 - Hollywood Studios - June 2012

Somehow I managed to pull into the parking lot at 7:40. I went and got some pictures of the Stormtroopers and Boba Fett.

Day Report 28 - Hollywood Studios - June 2012

I left my house a little after 7:00 and I'm not sure what time I arrived at the park. I took some pictures of the Stormtroopers and of Boba Fett.


I was watching Muppet Vision 3D before 8:30.


I went and got on line to meet Chewbacca. I got on line a little after 8:30 and he wasn't due to come out until 9:30. I really don't know why they don't get the characters out earlier. Then it started to rain, which meant Chewbacca couldn't come out yet. He wound up coming out fifteen to twenty minutes later than scheduled.

Day Report 26 - Hollywood Studios - May 2012

I left my house a little after 7:00 am. I got there, parked, walked to the entrance, and saw that the park was already open. I took some pictures of the Stormtroopers and then I was walking down Hollywood Blvd. at 8:00.
